Using 's 1967-72 Truck ID website (an excellent website for us newbies) it looks as though my truck has a 1969 body (Grill and hood badge with reflectors) and a 1967 cab (pull **** heater controls and interior door handles).
Checking the doors data plate, the VIN number is F10ANA45193 which does translate to 1967. I want to cross reference this VIN with the other one(s) on the body.
At what other locatins can I find the VIN number? Under the right fender?
Two more locations, both on top of the right-side frame rail. First one is in the engine compartment right under the alternator (2wd) or just behind the front axle (4wd). Second one is under the cab right under where the seat is. You need a flashlight and a mirror to see that one. These frame stamps are hard to read, grab a wire brush and some rags to clean the grime off.
I did find another VIN number (under alternator) and it does in fact match the doors data plate VIN. With all of the other features that I mentioned above (pull heater *****, door panels, no reflectors, etc), I guess my truck is a 67 F100 even though it was sold to me and registered as a 69. No big deal for me, cause I actually prefer the 67.
My only remaining confusion is that not only was the truck sold to me as a 69, but it also has what appears to be a 69 grill and the 69 hood emblems with reflectors.
Can anyone tell me if these parts (hood and grill) were interchangable between 67 and 69? Could it be that I just have the grill and the hood off of a 69? Is there any other way to tell?
Still confused but enjoying myself learning.

Sounds like someone put a front clip off a '69 on your '67. Bad on 2 fronts, as it means (a) that truck took a front end hit at some point in it's life, and (b) they then somehow registered it as a '69... how you going to convert the title back to a '67??
In Texas we can go by the DOT and ask for a title history on our vehicles, based on the VIN... I learned my truck was built in Dallas and originally sold thru a now defunct dealership in Houston and I'm the 3rd owner... a pure Texas truck! Maybe if you can do that you can prove it's a '67 and get the title corrected? Just a thought...

The 1967 thru 1972 were completely interchangeable on almost every part... can go as high as 1986 on some parts is my understanding... we're all confused and learning on here.
As far as the title goes, I don't have one for the truck and the state of Georgia wouldn't transfer it over anyway. They would not transfer my 67 mustang title over from Texas either.
Isn't there some body panel stamping on the hood or grill that I could find and decode to find out what year they were manufactured? Does anyone know where to locate these numbers?
I mean on the actual hood and/or grill. I thought that on all original body parts, there was some type of stamping much like that on the engine block, etc.
These numbers would identify the date that the part was manufactured, correct?
If so, where would these numbers be on the hood?
What is it you're trying to determine? Appears you have already identified the front clip as being 69-70 and not '67? There are numerous galleries on FTE that you can browse, which should help you identify them... the '72's start here, page back to see earlier model trucks.

The '67 hood badges did not have reflectors. The grille is distinctly different from the later models.... the '68 is different from the '69, the '69 from the '70 and so on. Other than that the fenders and hood are easily interchanged and once on the truck I don't think anyone will ever know if they are 67 or 72. For what it's worth I don't think the part numbers (which would identify the year) were stamped on the body panels.
Whilel cleaning two different cabs today notices part numbers on cab and I think build date also. If you look under the hood on cowling left of the rubber plug is part and on the right of the plug is the build date if this help, And again on left frame rail in front of wheel a part number also . Again hope this helps GWB
