Time from Order Date to Build Date
Hey everyone. Just wanted to see how long anyone who has ordered a 2017 F150 has had to wait to get it. I went to the dealer back on September 23rd and placed my order for a 2017 XLT with the 3.5 ecoboost and 10 speed and my build date is January 5th, 2017. Anyone else have to wait this long? It seems like an awfully long time to me but then again this is my first time ordering one.

It is a long time. But consider that it is an all new engine and transmission along with the electronics to run them. Ford has been slow to roll them out. Also, the holiday season is upon us and that always causes a slow down.

Ordered my '17 Lariat on 27 October. Got a call from the dealer about two weeks ago with a projected build date of 19 December and a projected delivery date of approximately 30 days after that. It seems that right after mine is to be built, the plant closes for 10 days for the holidays. When the plant closes all transportation stops as well so it will sit in a staging lot near the factory for those 10 days. All in all about 90 days from order acceptance till projected delivery.
