Ok I have been to three SoCal Ford Dealers. I won't mention their names but I will post the city they are in. One in Valencia, CA. One in Mojave, CA. and One in Victorville, CA. Both the Valencia and Mojave Dealers refuse to budge more than $2500.00 off MSRP. I went to the Valencia dealer today and found a Special Order F250 that someone had ordered and then backed out of the deal. The truck MSRP'd for $70,660. I offered 8k off MSRP and they refused. They only wanted to go $2500.00 off that's $1500. + $1,000.00 rebate. The manager kept saying "it's a 2017". So far they have called me twice since I left the dealership but they won't budge on the price. I told them I can drive to northern California for a better deal. Right now the SoCal dealers seem to be "smoking the hype of the 2017". I hope they feel the same when the 2018 makes it's debut.
We are in northern California. Our salesperson said 2017s are selling as fast as they are delivered and they are getting MSRP+ for them. I thought he was bs'ing to make us feel good about paying invoice on the truck we ordered, but maybe there is a grain of truth there. Our truck is an oddball and may not have moved like the others if we had walked away.
You only help make the point. What was your trade in that they "gave" you 12,500 for? Trade ins absolutely affect sale price. For what it's worth at no point was ANYONE referenced as a liar....settle down
That is part of the funny math dealers like to throw on paper. When I went to school we learned how to add and subtract. Dealers like to include the trade figure's into the deal ahead of the down payment in an effort to steal the value of the trade. Don't get tricked into this technique. Make them price the truck first then talk trade or down payment.

That's the cool aid they want you to drink. The beauty of this is I don't need to buy one right now. I will if I get a good deal. Time is on my side.
My deal was straight forward. No trade, no financing, etc. Just straight numbers. I got an OTD number I was satisfied with. If someone does better than me, then they've done a better job negotiating their deal. But that won't change the fact that I am happy with my total.
One of the absolute worst things you can do is to compare prices after you've already bought something. The time for that is before the purchase. If you were happy when you bought XYZ, then be happy.
$53,500MSRP....invoice ($49,688-$2000 rebates=$47,688+ tax and plates.....2017 F250 lariat....ordered 8/13.....alleged delivery 12/29....(6th del date update)...
We had planned on using the Costco Auto Program to purchase our truck, but Costco had not set 2017 SD pricing for our region by the time our truck with delivered, so we agreed to paying invoice (5.88% under MSRP). However, since the $750 EAA rebate had to be used in conjuction with x-plan, we switched to x-plan (5.77% under MSRP). After rebates ($1,000 customer cash, $750 EAA and $500 student) we paid 9.76% under MSRP.
To put some numbers to these percentages:
MSRP $56,405
X-Plan $53,150.55 ($62.65 over invoice)
Customer Cash - $1,000
Student Bonus Cash - $500
EAA X-Plan Direct Offer - $750
Price Paid $50,900.55 + TTL
No trade in and pre-approved financing through our credit union.
