Instead of what did you pay, I will ask it this way. How much off msrp should I aim for on a SD? Being they are new, I wouldn't expect much but I am sure they want them sold.
If you can negotiate about 10% off MSRP that's pretty decent right now if buying off the lot. If ordering I could get 10% off all over town. This time next year when they are trying to clear the 2017's off the lot, different story.
I'm not an employee. Just called a dealer that had what I wanted and worked out a deal over the phone. The next day I signed the paper work and picked up the truck.
I got $10k off of the sticker price . My buddy went before me and offered the same (unbeknownst to me for the same truck), so I wonder if multiple people did that and by the time I did, they figured if they wanted to sell it they'd take that offer.
We had planned on using the Costco Auto Program to purchase our truck, but Costco had not set 2017 SD pricing for our region by the time our truck with delivered, so we agreed to paying invoice (5.88% under MSRP). However, since the $750 EAA rebate had to be used in conjuction with x-plan, we switched to x-plan (5.77% under MSRP). After rebates ($1,000 customer cash, $750 EAA and $500 student) we paid 9.76% under MSRP.
