1A Auto Mirror issues

Hello everybody. Just wanted to note some issues I've had with my 08 up tow mirrors I bought from 1A auto. The worst being the distortion I'm getting in cold weather. Anything close to and under -20C they get really warped and distorted. Also the black caps for the top have both fallen off so I ended up using some black silicone to hold them in place. Just thought I should mention this for anybody looking to buy them in the future. I'm going to contact them and see what they will do. Should also note they fit really nice and look good.

Yes they are not very good. Besides the distortions, you cannot buy replacement parts for them like replacement glass. If you break the smaller spot mirror for example, you have to buy another complete set of mirrors from 1A.

That being said, they're still a lot cheaper than oem....but there is a reason.

Hmmm, wonder if they changed supplier. Mine have been on for a few years and are still great.

It looks like brand new manual oem mirrors are $350.00 a pair from a dealer(e-bay)! l-Trailer-Tow-Mirrors-pair-NEW-www.ebay.com/itm/08-thru-16-Super-Duty-F250-F350-OEM-Ford-Manua/181329662179?fits=Year%3A2008%7CMake%3AFord%7CMode l%3AF-350+Super+Duty&hash=item2a381710e3:g:O54AAOxy66pRu 3i9&vxp=mtr

I've had mine for over 3 years and no issues at all, no distortion in cold weather either. But I've only had them down to -25F though.

Never had an issue but maybe gets down to 40-50 in Florida(rarely). I probably would have contacted 1A w the problem first before putting your boot on their throat. There service and product(s) have been great for me especially for the cost. Service and quality has been great for many others as after doing different searches it is what led me to 1A in the first place.

I've compared those to the 1A ones and the photos they use are identical... wonder if the mirrors are identical also?

I have a pair of those in my eBay watch list... need to pull the trigger on them.

I've seen a thread where people were complaining about "WARPING ISSUES" with the 1A mirrors. So I decided to go with the eBay ones. This is my going on my second winter with them on. Last winter we got hit with a historic blizzard! Like I said I haven't had any issues with mine.

^^^^^ I appreciate the "I've seen" instead of the ubiquitous "I seen".

Had 2 sets of 1aauto mirrors myself, no issues.

AFAIK there is only one supplier for these aftermarket. 1aauto, ebay, superduty service (possibly the best price on them) all get them from the same Taiwanese manufacturer.

If you think the OEM pieces aren't offshore you're drinking the kool aid.

I'm glad most of you have had good luck with the 3rd party vendors,
The oem mirrors are indeed made over sea's. The difference is the specification of the product results is superior build quality. So for the Same $350.00 you can buy Ford Oem Mirrors From Dealerships on E-bay, with warranty's.
