Has anybody relocated the horn from under the fender to somewhere up front? I got a Stebel Nautilus that I'd like to install somewhere up front in the open if possible. Looking for ideas. WIll appreciate pictures, if you have any.
This will be more of a spring time project, after I have finished with
- fixing the electrical gremlins
- 08 style mirrors
- headlights from Tony (maybe I'll combine with this install)
To stay on topic though, there is plenty of room behind the bumper and the grill. I have a siren speaker behind the bumper, and an led light bar plus a battery charger mounted behind the grill. you'll have to either fab up a bracket or play with it until you get it to mount to something already there, but it'll fit
The bells came plumbed/assembled on a common bracket. I just bent up/drilled/painted some 1" flat stock to accomodate existing underbody harware. I installed my solenoid at the bells for almost instant on/off. For a more "train" like sound mount the solenoid away for fade in/out when you hit them.
Keep them pointed down so any water gets blown out at every event.
Great ideas, but not planning to go nuts with this project. Just want something loud enough to wake up the errant driver talking on the phone / texting / wandering over.
