Question Buggy Shock Sensor?

For those who are reading this I hope you have a shock sensor installed and can shed some light into my problem.

My alarm keeps getting triggered by noises around the vehicle. I can open hand slap most of the truck and not set the alarm off. But when I throw an apple in an empty rubber garbage bin 1.5m away from the truck the alarm goes off. Same for vibrations from large motors.

It's like the sensor is more sensitive to vibrations then impacts. I would have guess that the sealed body of the truck would dampen any air vibrations and tires dampen the ground. My old truck never had problems like this (had a aftermarket alarm).

Anyone else having issues with their shock sensor being sensitive on one end but dead on the other?

It's mounter in the cab where the parking brake is located. Right to the actual parking brake housing where feet are.

I haven't had any issues with my alarm going off.

Do you have the windows up?

Yes. Oddly the first truck t seemed to work well but the install on this second truck not so much.

I think I'll ask dealer to replace it as there is not much you can do other then turn it down to the point it becomes unshockable.

Is this a factory-fitted alarm or some kind of dealer-installed alarm?

I've only set my alarm off by locking the door with a trailer attached, then backing something off the trailer later. The rocking motion of the truck triggered the alarm.

It is the ford band alarm addition as seen on fords website. There is a number of people on here who have installed it along with the remote access system to allow cellular phone control of the vehicle.
