Transmission question

Ok folks, first off thanks to anyone who can help me answer this question. I recently swapped out my 2004 transmission with a replacement I picked up from the junk yard. They indicated the fitment was correct but I did not see the truck it came out of or know the year. I pulled mine and noticed it was basically a perfect match with the exception of it did not have speed control sensors front or rear. It had a plastic cap in the hole in the front and the back did not even have a hole for it. I installed the sensor from the original tranny in the front spot but the rear tail cone does not have a hole. If I swap the whole tail cone to accept the sensor will it work? Wondering if something else needs to change to make this tranny work? Shifts great but pulling the p0720 speed sensor code. I am not sure how these sensors work is there something on the gear it reads? Don't want to swap the rear cone if something else is needed inside.

Thanks again and I hope someone out there can answer this one.
