Speed sensor question

I recently swaped out my rear axle with one out of a 1989 f150. My truck is a 1994 f150 and it's an 8.8 just like my old one and the speed sensor connects up but for some reason my speedo doesn't work and my odometer doesn't rack mileage. Do I need to buy a connector for an 89 and swap it with the one I have on my truck? Any imput would be amazing! Thank u

Both those years show to take the same speed sensor (Motorcraft DY1123). Maybe your wiring got damaged during the swap, or the sensor just picked that time to take a dump?

check the wiring first. i replaced my sensor and then noticed that the wires were destroyed. i had to run new wires.

I just replaced mine and found the wires are in terrible shape. Rewire yours and see if that fixes it.

Put the sensor from your old axle into the replacement.. maybe the sensor that's in there is shot.
