New member here from Cleveland Ohio area, I'm in the same boat as a lot of guys here, ordered a 2017 crew cab short bed, 6.7 power stroke, lariat, shadow black, goose neck/5th wheel prep, some other odds and ends. But like most I ordered the bed liner. I was able to find my window sticker online, there is a date on the bottom that I assume is the build date, thats 9/27/16. I hope it comes in soon, the dealership just gives me updates that consist of "we don't know when it will be in". They haven't been much help during this process. Now we have had to drive my 1997 f-250 7.3 psd, usually I drive it very limited in the winter since it's still in really nice shape.
Scuba - if you're dealer isn't terribly helpful (ask to see the weekly update sheet they get from Ford on Thursdays) - try checking with Ford Chat through the build & price website. Just need your dealer code, order number, and last name. (All of which are on the DORA report your dealer should have given you)
And the date on the windowsticker isn't the build date. It's just a date that changes randomly from what I can tell. If you want to see an actual build date, try ETIS. If ETIS populates a date (other than the 2002.11.30 placeholder), it's actually built.
Thanks for the info, they started sending us a weekly email since we bitched at the sales manager. At this point I want it delayed a little longer, I'm going on vacation after Christmas and the dealership is letting us take a vehicle of theirs since we traded in our f-150 when we ordered the truck. I'll put the miles on their vehicle. I will call them tomorrow and get the info to try ford chat. I only have the vin #.
Your window sticker does not show the build date. It has two dates, one which indicates the date the sticker was issued and the other date changes sometimes and its purpose is not clear. Sometimes it equals the date you access the window sticker and other times is stays static for a couple of days. No build date unfortunately. But just having the window sticker means the truck is almost ready to go down the assembly line. The window sticker usually show up in the system about one week before it is actually built.
I talked to the dealership today, they have the window sticker, not sure why they never shared that with me, these are the issues that I've been having with the dealership, no communication, they were sending to me. They said my truck had a production date of October 6th. It shows in the system that it has been released to the body company for the bedliner. Shouldn't be too long now. Hahaha, who am I kidding, they said that a month ago.
