and I quote from the webpage 'Build & Price' 2017 F-250
"This group adds loads of convenience features, including accessory delay; manual-folding, manual-telescoping power glass trailer tow mirrors with heated glass;"
Now WHY, WHY would a POWER Equipment Group note
MANUAL folding and extending mirrors?
OK maybe we're getting confused. I understand that the mirror glass itself would be powered and able to be adjusted from within the cab....
But I'm guessing that the extension and folding of the mirrors is MANUAL.
Is that correct?
CORRECT

NO, Only the mirror is adjustable. The folding and extension is manual. NO option ever gives you the ability to electronically adjust the bottom convex mirror.

You might want to look at my post again. I said the main mirror is powered (meaning power adjustable). The bottom mirror (convex) is manual by hand. Also the mirrors are power extendable and power folding. At least when I test drove the Lariat package at the dealership the mirrors power folded and extended.
The power equipment group gives you power adjustable top mirror and I believe defrost. You need to also add the power trailer mirrors to get the power fold/extend. The power fold/extend comes standard on lariat and above but options on xlt and xl.

Thanks for the clarification, I was wondering if it was more of a XL / XLT thing.

Oops. I did misread the last part, sorry. I have never driven a Lariat that didn't have power folding mirrors but the base Lariat, that's the way it is I guess. As the 1st post says, the power group doesn't give you much power. What's the next package... Lariat ??? does give the power folding/extending.

No worries, apparently we were both right, just all depends on the model of truck. But good to know with the XL or XLT you will need the power group in order to get powered mirrors
I guess I should have clarified which model I was asking about the power group.
Lariat: Power Group
Sorry.
So what I understand is that the mirror housing itself IS POWERED to extend and fold. And of course the glass/mirror itself adjusts via power...but only the top one is my understanding.
