I am bidding on a 97 f250 that has a rough body and an oil leak on drivers side midway up the engine maybe. Anyone know what that is and cost to repair? Help is appreciated.
When you say "midway up the engine", are you taking about back to front or top to bottom? You might check on top of the motor. These engines have some common oil leak that actually start at the top (hpop or oil lines) and appear to be rear main seals and other things. Good way to tell is trying to look at the intake valley and make sure it's dry. If it's dry and where your oil lines attach to the heads are dry then you most likely have some sort of gasket leak. As in cost to fix, I agree with the above statements. Most of us buy the parts and fix ourselves so it's hard to say outside of potential parts cost. Maybe submit some pics of the leak to take the guess work out of it.
