The truck is sitting Buffalo, 70 miles west of here. The dealer, and Ford have tried to get the transport, Jack Cooper ML to move the truck. Still sitting after several days now.
tell your dealer to get off their ... and go get it. that is an hour drive away

Since in theory it is on its way now and I know it takes a lot of finagling to do a dealer pickup, and there is a snowstorm going on I guess it is best to let it come naturally. Too much can happen which might put the process back to April !!
Friday morning update: The transport company from Buffalo (Jack Cooper) promised the dealer to deliver the truck late this afternoon or tonight. So the Linex Appointment for Saturday may or may not be made. Then tires and in service done next Monday and maybe into Tuesday. So in spite of being on a "priority" the latest ETA of 12DEC will be made. Transport company said that a "priority" to them means it has to be at the dealers by the ETA. I guess I thank the stars it was a "priority."
Holy crap - Rob is getting his truck today!
Awesome, very happy for you. You'll be doing some cruising, I imagine.

The day isn't over yet!!!! Besides, the dealer is getting the truck. I think Monday night or Tuesday is more realistic. Thanks for the good wishes whenever it lands in my yard though.
You said something about tires and a Line-X? What are you doing with the tires?
I am having the dealer install LT295 r 70 x 18s Michelin M+S. The weight rating is 4080 each single compared to the 275's which are only 3400 each. Every way I add up the weight of the camper and clothes and generator etc for this spring's trip to Alaska puts me around 4000 lb payload and if I replace the fuel tank with (hopefully Titan) a 60 gallon tank I want to be ahead of the curve for tire loading, not just marginal.

Be sure the dealer programs the speedometer to the larger tire size. The standard size is 33.2" tall (275x70x18) and your new size will be 34.3" tall which is slightly taller than the 20" tires that could be had. Chances are they cannot program the "exact" size you are installing, but the 275x65x20 size will get it as close as it can be. Otherwise, your mph will read slow and the truck will show less accumulated miles than it actually has covered.

Thanks Trover. That will be done, in fact I had to give him a tire spec program since his did not have the 295's. Then there is always Forscan if all else fails. But now I have to go get a new laptop. My Win 95, 2000, and XP laptops do not like the bluetooth add on. Since I need a new laptop for our trip to do video editing I am reluctant to buy more hardware with 2 major choices to make. After all these years and numerous computers, some stacked in the corner, others turned back into the companies I worked for, I just do not want to spend more money. Windows or Apple? Each has its merits. High end Apple is twice as much as Windows and although dual boot, questions arise about all my Windows programs, mostly unused anymore but why buy an Apple just to run Windows? Or spend hundreds of dollars upgrading software to another system. Choosing the right path is individual and although everyone else knows theirs I am changing in my lifestyle and needs. Only one thing for sure, I won't order it from FoMoCo LOL
Rob, I hope you at least get to see it and maybe touch it today!

Thanks Donald. I am enlisting spies near the dealership alert me to the arrival, assuming it happens. What an obsession this has become. It was not meant to be this way. I wish the time spent waiting was billable hours. Oh well, Susie is home early for a trip to the tree farm. Tis the season!! 🎄

My full time job is IT manager; I've been doing IT since 2000. The landscaping company on the side is just a nice way to make a little more $$ and get away from computer screens and desks.
FORScan runs on Windows only. I run both Apple and Windows (and Linux) computers. One of my MacBook Pro laptops has a Bootcamp installed and runs OS X and Windows 7. I'm in the same boat regarding Forescan - I've had plenty of Windows laptops in the past, but the last one was an XP machine. I plan to buy a cheap Win 10 laptop for ForScan use.
Without going too far off track, here is my quick conclusion regarding Apple v Windows machines: Apple computers are nicer built machines, laptop or desktop, but the hardware inside is no better (and in some cases inferior) to Windows machines. OS X is a better OS than Windows, but alas, is still not compatible with the bulk of relevant software. Price-wise, Apple machines have come down, or at least more entry-level models made available, but obviously bang for your buck Windows equipment whups it.
My daily machine is a 2015 MacBook Pro 13" unit running a solid state 256GB drive, 8GB RAM, and a Core i5 CPU. Its the best computer I've ever owned, and at $1500 seemed basically reasonable. My previous Mid-2009 MBP was $2500 and a much poorer value.

Congratulation ,you can count it in your yard.Being so close I will don't push it.You wait for so long few days don't matter.

My son is in IT on the west coast and consequently has to use a couple of different setups to fulfill his duties. He finally switched to Mac for his own use mainly for photo work. He also does a lot with his Linux machine since a lot of work gets him back into coding and it doesn't really matter where it comes from. The video and photo editing requires lots of memory and powerful hardware and that is where I might stay with the Windows. I am Windows 10 on my desktop where I do most of my work but I will need the ability to work while traveling. I don't do much CAD work anymore but have a lot invested in the software which I can always do here at home so maybe a refurbished MAC will be in the future, especially with boot-camp. But then I look at the stack of laptops, one at over $3K just collecting dust in their obsolescence and wonder why? On well. Thanks again Trover for the support and advice and the great assistance at once again hijacking a thread. We are getting pretty good at it.
Awesome news Rob! Should be able to pick mine up Wednesday. Dealer said they would need a couple days to do the PDI anyways since it will take forever to go through all the features/options verifying everything is correct.
