It is about 8 miles to the dealer. Made the trip 3 times in four days to check the lot after dark!! Weekends full of hunting and weekdays trying to get some chores done. Maybe tomorrow even clear out the shop drive in floor which is full of summertime leftovers to be put away. Still behind and have to decorate front yard x-mas tree, got to get some photos printed for the cabin wall of racks so I avoided it all and did paperwork today which has been lagging behind. Salesgirl will call Jack Cooper again in the morning to try to track down delivery date. Supposed to be today but no show. Maybe lost in Buffalo or some point in-between. Maybe driver quit and abandoned truck in no-where land. (We had a driver quit who hid the truck and turned the reefer up to 90 deg on a load of meat. Couldn't find for 2 weeks. Whewh). Need to wait for a snowstorm to properly baptize in brine before delivery anyway.
Any rate, after this long the anticipation is gone from where it was back in Sept when the first ETA came along. It will still be exciting and welcome but the additions and trinkets to install have been looming long enough and almost seem like a chore rather than a goal after this much time. But once it gets here? Who knows....get the torklifts on and the camper tiedowns and the camper wiring and a few miles break-in and maybe a road trip in January, but won't plan too hard the way things go with Ford. And if they do crash the portable parking lot on the way in? Grab the camera and write a great free lance article for the local on line paper I write for. Bet it could be a hell of a write up!!!
AND thanks guys for the support and faith toward the end goal.........the journey is as important as the destination.
What a journey indeed. I'm excited for you man. We've been here with order in hand since the beginning. My silver stallion arrived in Seattle at the port to head north on Friday the 2nd. I'm hoping to have it in the next few weeks. And I'm hoping to catch up with you in AK next summer. Cheers man!
Awe man...getting close!! Wait until you take delivery, drive it the first day then go to bed. Then when you wake up the next day, and it's sitting outside waiting for you...no other feeling like it. Just a fun truck to drive!!

What? I thought you were supposed to sleep in the truck the first night??

Looks like I might have to drive 70 miles to Buffalo if I want to sleep in it the first night. Held up again waiting for a full carrier coming this way. Dealer has been called by Ford trying to make sure the truck moving now that it is finally a "priority". Only 4 more days until the last ETA. What great service if "priority" can get it here 2 days ahead of the last known schedule out of, as if today, 232 days!! That is an amazing .8% improvement!! Makes me glad I undertook a campaign to connect with Ford Customer Service. Maybe not. I might wind up with a 2018 if I hadn't
Maybe I should have waited for 2018 as well, sold stock to pay for the truck, which missed last week's delivery window by the way, anyway, the stock went up 30% since we sold! This was after a slow but steady climb for years.
Hope you got the call today Rob! Mine hit the dealer @ 3:00 this afternoon.
Congratulations! You'll be on the road in a day or so. Have not heard a thing even though promised a call as soon as it hits the ground. I want to see some pics of what these new trucks look like in NY, especially in the beautiful countryside and hills of the central areas!
I hear there is a snowstorm coming. Must be waiting for that.

The truck is sitting Buffalo, 70 miles west of here. The dealer, and Ford have tried to get the transport, Jack Cooper ML to move the truck. Still sitting after several days now.
I have been reading your posts and after all this happened to you. A higher up at your dealership should go drive 70 miles and load up your truck on a trailer (or even drive it) and bring it to your front door with a big red bow on it.
That sure wouldnt make everything that happened disappear but sure would make up for something.
im pulling for you man hopefully when it arrives it meets and exceeds your expectations.
i read somewhere before
"A person who masters patience masters everything else"
and u my friend sure have mastered patience well handled it a whole lot better then most of us would.

You might be surprised at how little control a dealer has over Ford. Taking a vehicle out of the transportation logistical chain would be right up there with shutting down the plant.
Rob we might have to go steal it........ We waiting with you brother.
Friday morning update: The transport company from Buffalo (Jack Cooper) promised the dealer to deliver the truck late this afternoon or tonight. So the Linex Appointment for Saturday may or may not be made. Then tires and in service done next Monday and maybe into Tuesday. So in spite of being on a "priority" the latest ETA of 12DEC will be made. Transport company said that a "priority" to them means it has to be at the dealers by the ETA. I guess I thank the stars it was a "priority."
