1968 Ford F250 Engine ID/Firing ORder/Timing?

Hello,
I recently got my first truck, a 1968 Ford F250 custom Cab Camper Special with the extended bed and chrome trim along the side. When I first got it itd fire right up and misfire quite a bit, but you could still drive it well and at higher speeds it would misfire less. Assuming it was a 360 (Since thats what the VIN says it came stock with) I pulled this firing order image off the web and wired it that way.Now it will just cough out the carb and not fire. I can advance it to where it wont cough but still not fire. The engine code on the front passenger side of the block says C7ME-A. Please help. In hindsight I should have left the firing order alone and just rotated the distributor before re arranging the ignition wires. It does have the Pertronix pointless ignition set upinside the distributor and the distributor is located in the front. i cant find the 325 stamp anywhere so far, which is supposed to be in every post "61 engine

That's the correct firing order but someone may have had the dist out and didn't get it back in correctly.
Find #1 TDC on the compression stroke then look to see where the rotor button is pointing.

Nevermind I realize now that someone might have replaced the distributor because tower one starts where 4 is on the diagram. Pretty sure I have the 360 based off the head codes. Got her to fire back up but its still popping and misfiring. Might have an exhaust manifold leak on the passenger side.

If the distributor is old, the top bushing might be so loose that even the Pertronix will misfire.

With the cap off, grab the rotor and push and pull back and forth in all directions and see how much "slop" is there.

Beyond that, is the choke closing on cold start, and opening up after it gets warm?

FEs are easy to spot - front two plugs point to the rear, rear two plugs point to the front. Also the intake is cut into the head area.

Which makes pulling the intake a PIA and very heavy.

It certainly does. Part of the reason I have an aluminum intake now. I think they weigh about 75 pounds.
