Ranger vs. B4000 Cruise Control switches?

P.S. The rubber covers on both have all but peeled off exposing those little micro buttons inside. Was that way when I bought it. When I push on the buttons, the green light in the instrument panel that says cruise is engaged/on flashes really quick but doesn't stay on when trying to use it. Maybe I'm missing something that I should be checking to see why it doing that?

I see you don't have any replies yet & I too wondered if the parts might be the same, but Amazon parts cross check says the 2002 Ford Ranger cruise control switch, part #SW5928 Does Not fit the 2002 Mazda B4000. Maybe check a trusted local salvage yard for parts, or look up the part # on say Advance, Autozone, ect & see if they show they'll cross reference.
If you are having cruise control operational problems, or suspect you might have other issues, use your ELM scan tool, running FORScan or the like software on the viewing device of your choice, to scan All of the vehicle computer/controllers, like the body GEM controller for trouble code clues & post All code Numbers, as they can help focus a trouble shoot. Some thoughts for consideration, let us know what you find.

Regarding testing/diagnostics, there's a way to check the CC system on the Ranger, maybe it'll work on your B4000. See:
