155cc injector tuning idle?

Hello I have a 2003 6.0 with 155/stock nozzle injectors plugged spill ports. I was wondering who has the same size injectors and do they idle/ run right? If so who tunes your truck?
I have been trying to get my truck to idle/ run right since I got this set installed in my truck. Working with two different tune writers and still no luck so far. Don't know if it's possible but I would like my truck to idle like factory and run as smooth as factory or better. Is this possible?

Just getting fustrated with bigger injectors and not being able to do anything about it because I can't adjust the tuning. I have played with my auto enginuity and seen that the ipr is at 19%. If I bump it up to 30% it makes the idle smooth as glass instead of the lope it has. I would like my tune writer to bump it up to 24% to get the idle to smooth out the idle. They won't because they said it would mess with the runability of the truck. Almost want to try tuning it my self but I no nothing about tuning. Any help out there?

The reason that they don't idle right is because of the plugged spill ports. The correct way to modify an injector to 155 is to cut the intensifier piston, NOT plug the spill ports.

Tuning may be able to resolve this, but ultimately you don't want a 155cc injector with plugged spill ports.

Matt at Gearhead or Chris at Truck Source Diesel should be able to write a tune to get your truck to idle and perform.

I wish I knew enough to ask for unplugged spill ports on this second set of injectors that I installed on my truck but I didn't. Everyone talks about custom tuning like its way better then canned tunes but I've had more headaches with a bigger injectors & custom tunes not running like they should. If there is anything I could do to make my truck run like it should I would.
Does anyone have plugged spill ports and have a smooth running truck?

Last night after being so fustrated with trying to get my truck to run right for so long I disconnected the icp sensor just to make sure the sensor isn't the issue, after reading up in the fourms that it could cause a lot of running issues. The idle smoothed out and the drivability is perfect. I changed out the icp sensor and pigtail a few years back because it was causing running issues. So the question is... Can I run my truck with this sensor unplugged? If not why?

Yep. It will set the CEL. Mileage might be down a hair. Check codes occasionally to verify nothing else popped.. run it that way forever.

You can run it that way, but the PCM is more or less running off memory and some assumed values.

It would be wise to inspect the harness and make sure it is still soldered and with no chaffing.

If the harness checks out, replace the sensor.

Yeah I think I'm gonna run it disconnected for a while. It seams to start better in the cold and run smoother.
