Thanks NumberDummy. I was under the impression, per the numerous ads, that the switch to column shift meant all 3 speeds.

 

Since you have corrected me several times over the years I just couldn't help this!
No such thing as a "fur" tree, it is a Fir tree.

OK. The guy has responded with the usual carp. He said he is in the Air Force in NJ and will deliver the truck before any monies change hands via E-Bay assurance program. He even posted a photo of his passport, like that will make all the difference. I told him I too live in NJ and still want to see the truck. I doubt that I will hear from him again. I wish there was some way to catch this guy.

If he doesn't respond Turn his passport into the USPS or send it to state dept. it is a federal crime to use it in a way that is a crime. The Feds care more about that than the local cops do about a scam.

 

You knew there was something fishy about this guy!

 

I hope the authorities don't let him "flounder" out there too long!

This type of scam stuff is in every corner.
i was checking on other Fords cars (1956) Price was too good to be true about 1/2 normal. Was advertised that it was in Pittsburgh. I emailed and the response was that the owner was in Europe in the service and the car was in Oregon in a shipping container. Also seen same pictures at different prices too. When i questioned the location of the car I never heard back again. Lot of us are looking for a good deal and this is easy for scammers to pick out a desirable machine and tempting us with low-ball prices!
