O/T - LED Worklight at Costco

I just bought a "CAT" brand LED worklight at Costco and like it so well that I thought that other FTE'rs might like to know about these lights. Rechargeable, lightweight, super bright on either high or low settings, USB charger port for your phone or other device, LED so it is cool when operating. It has a durable high-impact case and a fold up handle that makes it easy to use as a lantern or a stand/prop.
I do body and paint work so I need a bright light to use to expose scratches and other imperfections in paint finishes...this light works great to show bad spots that do not show up in normal lighting conditions.
I have not had it long enough to run it out of a battery charge so I can't comment on battery life. This light is small enough to easily fit in your glove box or tool box...I may have to buy another for the truck. Well worth the $30 price tag.

I have four of the 110v Snap-On LED work lights from Costco. Using one as an outdoor area light. I'll be getting a couple of those Cat lights for their portability.

I hear ya Bob...I am a HUGE fan of LED lighting, in fact I just installed 12 LED worklights that I bought at Costco. I had 3 8-ft fluorescent fixtures in the garage previously that consumed a combined 660 watts of power. These 12 lights consume 456 watts and provide many times the light as the flourescents. Not only am I saving $$$ on power, I am saving $$$ on not having to buy replacement bulbs that were expensive and did not last a year.

I recently replaced the eight 4' (52watt tubes) HO fluorescent fixtures in my shop with eight of the 4' Costco LED fixtures. Results were amazing. I'm sold on them.

Very cool. My late FIL had bought a Halogen light for over his work bench. Left it on when he went in for lunch, came back out to find his plastic tackle box was all but fluid in consistency. I put a new led 4' kitchen light in a rental unit and was most surprised at how bright it was. Sometimes I love technology.

Thanks for sharing Charlie. I have several Halogen lights that can bake a cake from their heat. I'll have to give this one a try.

Those of us that live in cold climates and have unheated garage know that fluorescent lights don't get real bright when it is cold. I assume the LED ceiling lights have no problem with cold?

Nope, not at all. As a matter of fact you can get just the LED tubes to replace existing fluorescent tubes in older fixtures. I've done that too and it works very well.

***UPDATE***
Costco has these 48" lights on sale (11/28 - 12/24) for $10 OFF. This drops the price to $19.95 each!

The other nice thing is the new LED's at Costco have outlets built into one end so you can daisy chain them. The earlier ones I got do not have that feature. Damn me for getting on something right away when these were first talked about on here last year. So unlike me.
