Trans fluid
Please remember this is my first Ford after 50 years of Chevrolets and a few Mopars. What ATF do I use in a 79 C6 trans ? I seem to remember that Fords took an F type atf and GM's used Dextron, now it kind'a looks like most things use Dextron with several Roman Numerals after ie' II or III.

Commonly available "Dex/Merc" per Number Dummy is closest to original spec.
Older spec type F will provide firmer shifts and some folks run it in the later transmissions for that reason. My Dent is happy with Dex/Merc.
