I contacted D Carpenter (who supplied my gasket) and they realized the permatex 7651259 sealer they suggested is no longer available; their suggestion is use the 3m Auto Bedding & Glazing Compound 08509. I was able to order this thru NAPA here in Alberta. Will see how it works!

 

Probably read it a tad wrong too, yes? Probably thought he was trying to chinz on an important compound, not realizing he only asked because he already had some on-hand, not because he was trying to save a buck or three?
