I don't expect it to, but if it does, it will go back in. Been fine so far. I don't get your questioning I guess. You feel like it will come back?

It's in the programming, the 6sp autos do this. Clearing memory is exactly that, but the values, the programming have not changed. All my 6.7's have done this, including my current, and my other 6.7's in my fleet also, there are no arising problems from this. I guess I should of asked, besides the annoyance behind it, is there something else your truck does when in this stage of warming up? Does it do anything strange when warm?

Well, I'll have to keep an eye on things. My 2011 6.7 never did this. this 2016 didnt do it at all when i drove it last winter, and had only just started a month or so ago. I'm not a Ford tech, nor did I sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I've seen several internet sources that discuss harsh/flared shifting fixed by clearing the shift strategy. Regardless, i dont consider it normal, and will continue to pursue with Ford as needed. Hopefully this issue wont reappear.

It shifts harsh? Sounds like you have more than just a slow cold upshift.

I wanted to circle back around on this...

So it got cold (for here, it's in the upper 20's) and the 5-6 flare was very noticeable and easier to replicate. Also, i had a very firm 3-4 shift, and very firm torque converter lockups until it was warm.

Although this might be considered 'normal' behavior, it certainly isn't 'desired' behavior.

Following djousma's advice, I used Forscan to reset the TCM computer, rather than making a trip to the dealer and arguing with their service desk.

Since doing that, it's perfectly smooth again, just like new!

I will try and get some screenshots on how I completed it this weekend. It's in a different screen than reading the DTC's. I believe it says 'Service Module Reset'

That was a couple days ago, I will continue to monitor and report back if the problem comes back.
