OT-Paypal

As you may have seen, I just sold my Hornet. I took the deposit via PayPal. Then when I tried to get my money (after they got their cut) they told me I was only allowed to take a grand a month out. WTF!?!? And while your money is sitting in their bank, they are paying no interest!! And in order to remove the limit (which shouldn't be there to begin with) you have to give them more information or confirm what they already have. Guess who is going to use them less? It was convenient to buy stuff from businesses with them but no more. I will only use then when it absolutely necessary. Crooks!

Later!

Register with a credit card and you should be able to pull all of the money out. I may have had to link a bank account to the paypal account as well, but it is no big deal and then there are no restrictions. I use paypal for everything I can, no credit card numbers to steal.

I am cross-linked with bank and credit cards. No problems at all. Great way to go IMHO.

I use pay pal all the time as well. I have to admit that the things I have sold through pay pal have been for low dollars. Still think they are a great way to go.

Sorry you are having a bad experience!!!

Never had an issue with Paypal. I've always been paranoid about someone hacking the account so I set up a linked account that I use purely for Paypal and nothing else. The account has less than $20 in it unless I am going to use it when I transfer money into the account.

Old saying "its good while it lasted" !!! Some CROOK put $4,000 on my acc. So
I get into their resolution center and while they are figuring this out I am on suspension? So by phone they now want photo ID SS number to prove I am me.
Short answer NOPE: How in hell am I the crook now???? Yes I filed a police report.
This was last July and as of now I can't even log into my acc so I have been terminated never missed a payment always on time. I have no (more) a master
card that got the match. Used to be so easy 'by me now on ebay' click bang zoom.

I had a card on file with them. It is mandatory to do business with them. So I followed their instructions to lift the limit and several times it said "this will take a few minutes" only to find it never happened. So I re-authorized the card and it finally went through. I too used them for everything for the same reasons (security, etc.) but now that I have a card that gives me 2% cash back, I'll use it for everything I can. And like my PayPal account, the card has a low limit. So thieves get very little and that is covered under the $50.00 fraud limit.

I set up my account using a debit card and a then them only e-mail account - After about 10 years the e-mail provider went TU - I tried to change my e-mail account to a current one but I'm not allowed to because the one that died was the one my account was registered to - I talked to customer noservice and explained the situation to them - They won't change the main account but have added an e-mail account that I use for purchases and notifications - I got confused and use them only when it is an absolute - I just love internet convenience

PayPal is the absolute worst for a seller. There is zero protection as a seller and PayPal will even tell you flat out that their interest is in the buyer and not the seller. I've lost two separate high dollar items through eBay because the person who bought it were low life's.

want to get anything on eBay free? Buy something then complain it's not what was represented. And trust me. No matter how much photo, video and email documentation they have PayPal and eBay will give you your money back. Oh and by the way you don't have to send the item back to them.

Trust me I've had to do this twice. I had pictures, video and emails to the buyer stating and showing exactly what they were buying. And I lost my money. PayPal just took it right out of my accounts. And when I asked about getting my item back they said that was my responsibility. I even took it to the credit card company and they could not do anything. I even went to the local police for cyber crime. As that is what eBay and PayPal considered it when they did not return my items. They said there was nothing they could do either.

Something strange happened to me recently, not directly related to the main topic of this thread but related in a way. I had two business accounts set up, one with a major package shipper and a state organization. I had these two accounts for over ten years. One week I went to use the first one but I couldn't log in. I did the password retrieval procedure by sending in the email address I use on that account. I got a notice that that email account wasn't recognized in their system. I tried to set up a new account but was told my user name was already being used for an account. I called the company and was told there wasn't anything they could do to help me even though I could provide them with all of my company information. I would have settled for a new account but I had an address book set up and had customers and suppliers who used my account number to ship packages to me. They did give me a hint to the email account that was tied to my account, one which I know I hadn't used in over ten years. I'm very forgetful and need to reset passwords from time to time and I'm sure I've had to reset my password a few times in the last ten years. I got lucky, I went back to the site and started entering passwords I could remember using in the past and found the correct one. I got into the system and changed all of my account information including my current email.

OK, a glitch in their system. A week later I went to get into the state run site and same thing. I couldn't get in using my password. I called the state agency and the lady I talked to was very helpful and reset my password and also formed me that the email associated with the site was the same old email that was linked to the other site. Again, I know I've reset the password on that site a few time and even remover doing it about a month before, using my current email address. I just thought it very strange to have identical problem with two unrelated websites.

I quit selling on eBay mostly because of the buyer protection program... no recourse if you have a bad buyer, they're expectation is the seller eats it.
Not so big a deal for big company selling subsidized Chinese garbage, not so good for rare or expensive items

I'm a buyer only now
