Funny you mention this...Mine won't pop out much as of a few days ago as well.
I don't really care...I can dig the step out fairly easily. On the other hand, my truck has a new media bay sliding door on order for that problem, and when the dealer calls me, maybe I'll make them address this issue as well! That's the beauty of warranty!
Media door is quirky. First trip back I will have that addressed as well as the 27 gallon fuel 0 MTE issue, although I doubt there is much which will be done about that. I have been looking for another complaint but have found nothing. Thanks for making a good one . Knock on wood.
update....took mine apart last night and adjusted it but it was still sticking. Decided as a last ditch effort to try the simple idea of spray some Motor Kote on the rails and in the tubes. Worked it back and forth a couple times and it works perfectly now. It pops out about 1/2 inch when you press the button.
Aren't these pre lubricated from Ford? Is this something that has to be done all the time? I have only used my step 5-6 times before it stopped ejecting when I pressed the release button. Very frustrating on a 3 month old 70k truck.
Finally fixed mine. We will see how long it works. I removed the springs from the track and stretched them just a little bit. Now it comes out about an 1.5-2" when you push the button.
