Tried to connect my phone up through the blue tooth and the radio told me the blue tooth is off. Tried to turn it on still couldn't get it turned on. Took it over to the dealer they tried but it wouldn't turn on. Told me to make an appointment after they tried for 15 min. Now have to go over Monday and see what they can do.
It won't do anything and went to dealer to ask questions and they told me to come back Monday. I would think they would have told me to check that and it said it was up to date when I checked just now.
If the radio told you bluetooth was turned off, did you check your phone to insure bluetooth was in face turned on in the settings?
What brand phone do you have?
I did it is on picking up something my son has that's blue tooth upstairs right now. The tech said something about doing a hard reset stating he might have to disconnect the battery to reset it. They only played with it for 15 min but they couldn't get it to turn the Blue tooth on the radio to turn on.
Phone BT is on. The truck says that the trucks BT is off How it got turned off I haven't a clue but went through it with a tech for 15 min and he couldn't get it back on. Since it's a month old, under Warranty, I'm going to let them deal with it. Was just looking to see if somebody had an easy fix I could do just pushing buttons. Manual doesn't mention anything about the blue tooth turning on or off that I could find.
Dealer did what he called a hard reset which is just disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery. Was told the Blue Tooth has a common problem and this needs to be done occasionally to reset it. Once it was done the BT works fine again.
This is now a do it myself now that I know there is no other problem.
Well this is starting to become a pain, the Bluetooth causing trouble again. At least the dealer had to dig a bit further, they claimed it had an update but wouldn't let me know it or do the update. They hooked it up to their computer and it forced the update through and told me there was nothing I could do but take it to them. I know Bluetooth isn't a big deal but it's a new truck and I paid for this feature so I want all to be working. Hope this isn't going to happen anymore.
Wasn't there in issue a few years back where you had to pull a kick panel and yank a fuse for a time to reset lost Bluetooth? Maybe that was in the F150.
Wish I could recall the details better because it seems like it was a common problem.
Not that it helps Mark, but first thing I've always done is replace the factory head unit with something aftermarket. I've always found SYNC to be kind of clunky, slow to react to and/or not recogize voice commands and a general PIA.

The Dealer told me to disconnect the negative terminal off the battery to reset it. Phone isn't the problem, this time a update locked me out making the Bluetooth not able to recognize my phone.
