Android has a "trusted voice" (as in mine) that I can unlock the phone, and tell it stuff without having to touch it. Surprised how good the voice recognition is.
It was 'promised' with a date that keeps moving. Apple CarTalk requires a new USB hub ($63) and a software update. Android Auto only requires the software update. As of a couple of days ago, the factory person I talked to said the 'release date' is unknown. Seems to be version 2.XX. The Ford owners website says my version, 1.0, is the latest and I am up to date.
The whole thing is very strange and pretty hokey. Shouldn't be a huge deal. It was announced MORE THAN A YEAR AGO and is supposed to be standard on all 2017's.
The only use I really wanted is to Apple maps on the danged screen. (Android will have Google maps on the screen, but not iPhones).
