Hi, I'm working on a 1990 f-250 with a EFI 460. I got a couple of beginner questions: Where is the oil pressure and/or oil level sensor. Also where is the coolant temperature sensor or sensors? I'm fixing this pickup up for my grandpa in my spare time and neither the oil or coolant gauges in the dash seem to be working. I took a brief look around the engine and found what looks like two coolant sensors in the intake manifold, why are there two? Or am I confusing myself? I'm still searching for the oil sensor.
Any advice welcome.
Thanks.
all of the links are linked back to the forum, should help, I'm not sure though, havent had that problem yet, read through, and let me know what you find out. I'm too lazy to read all of that. haha.
OP: not one of the above threads are relevant to your 460 gas motor. I think the tachometer gets its signal from within the distributor. Other's more familiar will chime in hopefully.

I know you mean well but the only thing remotely relevant to the guys question was the video. Everything else was for diesel trucks. If you aren't sure of the answer to someone's question, post your thoughts but with the disclaimer that you're not sure. If you flat out don't know, just sit back and wait for someone that does. I would let this one go but I've noticed several posts by you recently that are misleading and/or irrelevant. I don't mean to be mean or rude but just think twice about what you post.

OK TROLL (goingboarding), thanks.
no need to judge someone just because YOU find my information irrelevant,
thats why some others might not post because of internet "gods" like yourself
if you were half as good as you thought you were, you wouldn't be on a truck forum asking questions, and hoping people would give you the answer....
its posters like you that make the board really inhospitable
no need to judge someone just because YOU find my information irrelevant, I read all those threads... Yes they were irrelevant. For the fact that the idi diesels have a mechanical tach pickup on the block. A gasser has the pickup in the distributor. Something a diesel doesn't have.
its posters like you that make the board really inhospitable Inhospitable? Not so much, just letting the OP know that the info you posted would net him no appreciable gains toward his issue.
to the OP, use google its really easy....
To the OP if the tach was working before your other repairs, check to see if you pulled a connection apart around the distributor. That's the easiest place to begin
