I have a truck issue i would like to run by y'all. I have an early 2003 F-350 KR cc dually 4x4 6.0 it's been mine for about three and a half years and I've replaced the trans temp probe three times and it has gone out again yesterday coming home from my deer lease. When I start the truck the trans temp goes full scale and goes into limp home mode can't go much faster than 45mph and after a while it will start shifting normally but each time I restart truck starts all over again. What I'd like to know is this a common problem and is their a fix? Thanks
Have you checked the wiring? The problem could be in the wiring harness, not the sensor itself. The harness inside the trans that connects to the sensor has been know to fail.
Thanks for the reply. I had thought about changing the harness. I looked them up and the updated harness has a couple fewer conections. But I'll give it a go.
Hey PLbigcoop....did you ever fix the problem? If so, what was the fix to correct it? I'm having similar issues and would like to hear your feedback. Thank you. -Steve
