Couple basic questions
1. Oil Change Intervals? What are you guys doing for oil change intervals and what oil are you using? I'm thinking that I'm going to have to go by what Ford wants since it's still under warranty for another 80 thousand miles. But just curious. And with my 7.3 I used to use rotella oil. I was reading last night that Ford isn't going to support some new oils? So what oil is safe to run in these trucks that still have warranty?
2. Looks like from reading on here I need to pick up a spare EGT sensor and a 13mm wrench to keep in the truck. Kind of like the CPS and 10mm socket I used to have to keep for the 7.3.
3. Is there a way to disable the back up alarm beeping? Is this a factory option?
4. What PSI are you running the tires at empty? We won't be towing much right now so what will be best for ride and fuel mileage and winter traction?
5. Service intervals. Again I'm sure the manual has them all listed but looking for more real world advice here. What needs to be done when? Our 2015 has 19,000 miles on it now and the dealer said they just did an oil change. So when should I do things like ATF and coolant and anything else that should be done or looked at?
6. Cold weather. It's going to start to get cold and truck will be driven in Iowa mostly and WI for visits. I know my 7.3 I just kept the batteries good and replaced the glow plugs once and it always started right up except one time that it was sitting outside in -40 with high winds. Never really plugged it in. Are these 6.7s pretty good at cold starting? Or should I be plugging it in if it's going to get down below freezing?
7. Air filters. I did the kwik filter mod on my 7.3. Are the filters and intake pretty good on these new trucks or should I be looking at an intake in my future? If so which one? If factory is good enough what filter are you guys running?
8. Any other mods I should be looking into in my near future to either help performance or preventative maintenance?
9. Is there a decent priced service manual for these trucks? I used to have a DVD disc for my 7.3 I got off ebay. I do most of my own maintenance. I also used to have AE but the cable got lost and they wanted me to pay for everything again instead of just getting a new cable so I ended up going the autel route for a scan tool. I think it's only updated to 2014 so not sure how good it will be on my 2015. Now that I have another ford diesel I may look into getting AE with ford enhanced again just for the truck and will still have my autel for all other vehicles. When it came time to choose between AE or autel I just couldn't justify AE's enhanced pricing to work on all different makes of vehicles so went with the autel maxidas.
I think that is it for now, I'm sure I'll have more the more I drive the truck. And I'm sure these have all been answered a million times but in my reading I didn't come across the answers or I had a more specific question so hopefully someone can answer these. Thanks.
I'll answer what I can from your list...
1. I'm going to do 5k OCI for a while. Depending on how you use the truck the computer will probably go 5-10k. The Shell Rotella WILL meet Ford specs so no need to worry about that. I run T-6 in mine.
2. ?
3. It must be an option as I don't have one
4. I run my per the placard but I do tow fairly regularly.
5. ?
6. Thesetrucks start in cold weather better than the older ones but I would definitely plug it in below zero
7. The air filters on the 6.0 and 6.4 could easily go 100k and I'm sure that the 6.7 are probably the same Donaldson design. No need for any modifications.
8. Well of course! Just depending on what you like!
9. Most everything you could possibly need is either on this forum or YouTube!
Good luck!

I do 15K on the fuel filters. Pick up a spare set and keep them in the truck.
Carry a EGT sensor just in case.
Wouldn't hurt to pick up a gallon of the premixed ford coolant and have that too. It is not the same ford gold coolant you are used to.
I would buy a spare "cup" for the frame fuel filter. They do have a tendency to break when you try to remove them to change the filter.
You can find the Ford Workshop DVD on eBay but you have to trip the DVD into working with a date change or use a program like RunAsDate. I use this to run my 2014, 2015 and 2016 Ford Workshop DVD's.
Oil is your preference depending on your usage. Check your owner's manual for your driving condition and what they suggest for oil. I run full synthetic 5W40. It covers the full range of of temperatures from like -20 to over 100. Many on here use the Shell Rotella T6. It is a full synthetic that is readily available at Wal Mart.
Any other specialty tools I should look into getting for the future work? I like to buy ahead of time and have around just in case.
Anyone run a coolant filter? I had put one on my 7.3 and they were cheap and easy.
What about a baldwin fuel/water separator? I also had one of these for my 7.3, any reason to get one to put on this truck?
We already blew off one intercooler boot. Should I be looking to upgrade these boots and clamps?

You will need a 32mm or 1 1/4 socket to remove the canister for the fuel filter.
Some of us us the Dieseltsite fuel filters.
Is there a good online site for factory parts? A site sponsor or something?
I carried a 2.5 gallon jug of DEF for over 2 years and finally used it this past month. I have also carried a set of fuel filters and complete canister for over 2 years also and not needed it. You have Ford roadside assistance for free for 5 years, free towing and all if you have a problem.
There are owners on here that have many miles on their 2015 and also 2016 and no turbo intercooler pip problems. You can end up spending money and never need the parts.
Here is one of the lowest prices online for parts. Also check eBay. Many Ford dealers selll there with free shipping.
