I would like to ask for some suggestions on what tires would make my truck look better. I dont have a clue what all the numbers on them mean other than the size. Dont want anything that sticks outside the fenders but do want more meat I think. Loooking forward to your suggestions!
thanks Tim
Not knowing what size wheels you have (backset, width) makes it a little difficult for me to answer positively or very helpful. I can say from my past experience with stock suspension, with stock steering, the wider the front tire the less you will like it, they seem to track more and are harder to turn IMO.
I am using 225-60v16 on the front and 275/60r16 on the rear, they fill the wheel wells nice.
The front wheels are 16x7-4" backspace, the rear wheels are 16x10-6 1/2" backspace

Go to this site and order their catalog. I use this catalog whenever I am purchasing wheels and tires, it has a lot of helpful info on sizing of wheels, tires and other info
Stock'49 suspension w/ Cooper Cobra Radial GT's on Slotted Mags
Rear Tire & Wheel
Front Tire & Wheel
I'm running Cooper Cobra Radial GT's on mine, 235/60R15 on American Racing 15x7 3-3/4" backspace up front and 275/60R15 on Appliance Products 15x8-1/2 with 3-1/2" Backspace. I love my stance! On a 9" rear end instead of stock.

Reason: Added tbat I have a 9" rear end instead of stock
I agree that wheel size and backspacing needs to be known, not enough backspace and the tire will stick out the fender while still having lots of room on the inside.
I would measure the space available and then pick a tire, then pick a rim with the correct backspacing to make it fit like it should.
I have about 1 1/2" on the inside and I think about the same on the outside on my rear wheels, 15x8 rims with 265/50/15s. My backspacing doesn't apply to you as I have a 70 chevelle rear axle. I have 235/60/15s up front on 15x7s with 3 3/4" BS, but again doesn't apply as I have the jag IFS. I am also partial to torque thrust Ds, but I have some mustang bullet wheels to test fit shortly. I also love old school slot mags, I have some of those around for a future project as well.
If you dont lower your truck you will not want a low profile tire, but I would lower that sucker
It depends upon your wheel size. I have 6" wide wheels in the front and 8" in the rear. As you can see they are BF Goodrich TA Radials on 15" wheels. P235/60R15 in the front and P255/60R15 in the rear.
