I bought basket case late '50 F1 and it has a LD 3 speed side shift transmission. Unfortunately, I can't find the parts for the remote shift and I am not even sure what is missing. I found the long tube that fits on the steering column and the top support. I also found the actual shift handle that fits into the tube. The lower mechanism and support are gone. I found some levers but I am not sure where they go or if they even belong to this truck. The part numbers on them are 8A7315GP and 8A7316GP. I hope someone knows what they are.
I was hoping that Number Dummy might have a parts breakdown which might help me out since my manual only shows the linkage for the HD 3 speed. What would really be great if someone has a full remote shift setup they would be willing to part with. PM me if you do!! In the meantime, I'm stuck.
I'd say by far your best bet is someone who has the whole setup. Here's what I can find right off. Don't forget you need the CS style floor plates, or modify yours. There's also a rubber seal ot the floor plate.
I think you're right Ross. From your diagram I am just missing too many parts. My only other option is to try and find someone who has a floor shifting 3 speed they can part with. If none of that works, I'll be stuck adapting a different trans to it and that can be costly.

I found some levers but I am not sure where they go or if they even belong to this truck. They're from a 1949/50 Ford car.

8A is the Ford part number prefix for 1949 Ford Passenger Cars.
However, 8A-7315-GP & 8A-7316-GP are ID engineering numbers, not part numbers.
The actual part numbers for 1949/50 CARS: 8A-7326-A 2nd/3rd shift rod & 8A-7328-A 1st/reverse shift rod / Obsolete
If these shift rods were for a 1948/52 F1 .. their part numbers would be 8C-7326-B & 8C-7328-B
Upper pic for 1949/50 Ford car steering column and shift mechanism. The shift rods are shown as basic Ford part numbers 7326 & 7328
Thanks Bill. I still have not found anyone with an extra truck remote shifter for sale but I did find one for a pass car. I wonder what the difference is between the two? If I thought the pass car one only needed minor modifications I would buy it.

1949/50 Ford car vs. 1948/52 F1: The two shift rods are different, the shift tube is different, the two manual control selector levers on the column where the shift rods attach are different.

I didn't look at anything else.
Thanks again Bill. Sounds like they are quite different. Oh well, still looking then . . .
You should change the title of this thread to "Need a Colum Shifter Assembly", might stir some people who have them. You might PM "Jmadsen", he has a lot of parts trucks.

The column and shifter assembly was on eBay not too long ago.
The shifter rods are just threaded rods if you can't find them. You would need the clevis's on both sides.
The pass car one I found was on Ebay. The seller is a well known truck recycling firm but the shifter was from a pass car. I contacted them to see if they had one for a truck but at this time they did not . I am keeping an eye out for one to show up.
