Pertronix ? Ignitor I or II for 240 in 65' F-100
I have a 65 F-100 with a 240, stock. I am ignorant of how to set points. As much as I love my old pickup, I also like some new technology.
I have decided to go with a Pertronix unit, either the Ignitor I or Ignitor II. I am not going to be getting used parts from a junk yard, so the cost savings of a Duraspark are just not there, and I like to keep the simple stock look under the hood.
But which Ignitor to use, I or II? I intend to replace the stock coil with a Flamethrower I or II as well. And I’ll remove the old resistor wire from the ignition switch, so that the system gets a full 12v.
I found lots of good things about Pertronix, quite a few people like the Ignitor II as well. Can someone tell me, really, honestly, in real world performance terms (I am mostly interested in reliability and fuel economy) which is better?
Thanks

I run a Pertronix Ignitor I in a 68 Torino against a Accel Super Coil, works like a charm. Easy install, car starts great runs good. I'm supposed to run a resistor with the super coil as it is not supposed to handle full 12v but what the heck been working great for two years.
