I have had a problem with my 2012 F150. It started spluttering and missing and barely able to pull itself. I used a code reader and found P0300 random multiple missfire, P2195 Oxygen sensor signal biased/stuck lean bank 1 sensor 1, P2197 Oxygen sensor signal biased /stuck lean bank 2 sensor 1.
I examined everything looking for a vacuum leak and found none. I did find a strange pair of open holes in the underneath side of the air intake structure. Two holes look like some kind of hoses should be attached. I stopped up the holes and it seems to have solved the missfire.
Can somebody tell me what the two holes are for? Has some kind of structure fallen off? I may have to go to a Ford dealership, but the nearest one is fifty miles away. Any help would certainly be appreciated. Thanks!
Ford said the holes were just a noise reduction muffler. They said if holes are plugged it shouldn't hurt anything. I thought it was fixed when I plugged the holes. It ran fine for a few miles, then barely got back home.
Dang, them holes are after the filter, if they are open to the flow of filtered air, you could suck something in through there and cause some damage, id plug them if they are.
