Why the heck would my dome lights (front and back) stay on while I'm driving and when the truck is off KOEO and locked? It's not the reading lights, those I can turn on and off at the switch on the light, it's the lights in between them.
Ugh, well...remember how there's no stupid questions? I must have rotated the dash dimmer switch to the on position, which turns on the dome lights. Thanks guys.
Well, since it was brought up, there's a switch inside the door that activates the dome light. IF, you find out that a sticking switch is the problem, (and not the dimmer switch being turned on) you can usually fix it by spraying up inside the latch in the door with some PB Blaster with a straw, then open and close the door a few times.
Stuck on door switch will trigger a Door Ajar warning while driving, but the dome lights will be out. The dome lights stay on longer with key off after closing the door with the stuck = on switch.
Another way to diagnose a door switch. If there's no Door Ajar warning while driving, it's not a door switch.

Well you gave it the old college try
Just kidding. The easy problems are the nice ones to have.

Tell you what: I was here trying to figure which new gremlin was keeping my light on. I fixed a lot of electrical issues in the last month or so on my 05 F250, but having the light on and no door ajar alert was a new one. So I googled it, found your post, slapped my forehead, went on the truck and sure enough, the dimmer was all the way up!

Reason: Typo
I just replaced my passenger side door switch since it would act up for a couple days when it got wet. Try not to break the two plastic tabs that hold the wiring harness to the switch by using a long flat blade and a flashlight. That is the trickiest part since the plastic is old and brittle. I broke one of the tabs but the other one is holding it fine.
