Dash Lights problem
Hard to say what grounds to check...Depends on the light, panels, etc..You will just have to look at what you have...Don't forget the fuse box. Those can get resistive, and cause problems if a circuit starts drawing a lot of current. IE: often the dome light is on the same circuit as the cig lighter. The lighters draw a lot of current, and if the fusebox starts to fry, and intermit, you would lose the dome lights. You will need a volt ohm meter to really be able to test anything. That will let you find out if you are losing the positive or ground to a certain device. Did the dash lights work before you replaced the switch? The dash lights are controlled by the rheostat thing on the light switch. Obviously, you want to make sure the inner control for the dash lights is to the left, and "full bright" .MK
Do the lights for the heater controls come on? What about the lights over the headlight/wiper switches? They should come on with the dash lights...
The front orange lights should come on with the park lights, go off with headlights on, and flash for signals/hazards.
Does the dome light come on when you twist the headlight ****? Sometimes my buttons in the door jamb get corroded and I spray them with lube and push them a few times and the dome light will work again.
Try to take it one problem at a time and it will be easier to fix.
