yes exactly what I did. I'll make a little dot with a marker but otherwise functions fine with it covered.
I see how you did the Boxlink stuff but not sure about the lights. Do the lights just 'pop' out and then snap back in? It appears that they are holding down part of the Bedrug?
I get my Bedrug Monday and am trying to line up instructions for the installer.

yes the lights pop out. There is a retaining clip on the bottom of the light. Be careful extracting as the plastic clip can bend or break. Pry from th bottom and insert a flat narrow device from the bottom and lift up a bit and pull forward and it will come right out. Cut the rug exactly the size and you can reinstall the light by compressing the rug for a clean fit. You will need to push a bit hard to get the top retaining clip to compress the bedrug and hook on the aluminum from behind. Then solid push from the bottom and it'll snap right in.
Also so be very accurate in the side to side positioning as the rug goes right up to the top edge of the bed and a few mm off will mean some trimming or bunching up.
Amazing fit and finish. Spent about 3 hours installing mostly due to removing box hardware with a socket as my air compressor is out of order. Everything installed over bedrug.
WOW!!! BEAUTIFUL installation...I was worried about all the tiedowns/lights/etc...you did an OUTSTANDING job...NO WONDER it took 3 hrs!
Thanks! I've since added a BakFlip MX4 and and totally thrilled with that too... went on perfectly, great fit, really finishes the truck.
Quick question, do you have a spray-in bedlinen under the bedrug? I have the ford factory one and was reading about the adhesive that you can apparently use to glue the velcro strips in. Local truck accessory store wants to use screws into my bed and I'm not so jazzed about doing that.

Thanks.
I did not have any liner. Considering all the effort that it took to installed gatorback mud flaps just to have a certified, no drill, (and solid) mounting to the aluminum body I would not be screwing anything into it. Maybe they can sand the bedliner smooth in that area?
Don't let them drill in to your truck bed. If you use some adhesion promoter with the tape it will adhere to the bed liner just fine and look just as good as the above install.
You don't want them want them drilling into your bed and voiding any warranty for corrosion or paint chipping.
My dad bought a 2016 F-150 off the lot with spray in bed liner. We installed the bed rug over it, just used lots of alcohol to prep for the tape. Seems to be sticking just fine.
One thing I really like is the seal between the bed and tailgate. Just wonder how clean it will stay with a bed cover on also.
As I mentioned I have owned 3 Bedrugs and like them. So lets discuss some things to watch out for.
The part of the Bedrug that covers the gap between the bed and tailgate tends to collect debris. It also tends to sag over time creating a pouch to catch even more debris. It can get to the point that it sags into the gap and may bind when you go to close the tailgate. That's the one are of the Bedrug I found I was constantly blasting with the pressure washer.
Bedrugs and beach sand do not get along well. It takes a pressure washer to try to blast it off the Bedrug and you will never get it all, over time it gets packed with sand.
Bedrugs hate straw, even a pressure washer has a tough time blasting bits of straw off, they get caught in the rug fibers. Ditto for pine needles especially the short little 1 inch long buggers. Ditto for other tree debris.
All of mine no matter how carefully I cleaned the surface, the adhesive backed Velcro comes loose from the tailgate corners and loses its sticky surface. You may need to replace those sections from time to time.
The Bedrug is lightweight, super lightweight really its not heavy like carpet. Its light enough to fly right out of your bed onto the freeway which I remember hearing about a guy that happened to. So take your time on the install, make sure you clean the truck bed surface where you are sticking on the adhesive backed Velcro.
Since my F350 came with the factory spray in liner I opted not to install a Bedrug this time.

Thanks for all the feedback. When I installed dad's, and I will with mine, I took off all of the tie-downs and bedlink parts and bolted them over the bedrug. There is ZERO chance of the thing coming out. I will also have to cut a hole for the Gooseneck ball area. I'm pretty sure the factory seal will fit back in. I may have to put some rubber or hot glue around the hole to keep it down well. Looking forward to it.
I just use the Bedrug mat, not the full bed install, and I love 'em. I had one in my F150, and I really liked it. I handled anything I threw at it. In my '14 F250, I ended up purchasing a rubber mat from the dealer at purchase, and I regretted it. Needless to say, the '17 has a nice Bedrug mat under the Bakflip MX4.

I ordered the Bedrug mat and tailgate mat on December 15 and got word they shipped yesterday, obviously out of production. While I have had the full rug in former SD's saw no need to getting full rug for the 17. Only reason I have it is anticipating having to sleep on it if I don't quit buying new SD's, the 17 is my 6th...to date have had a very understanding significant other...
