I too wish the sun roof is something I didn't have to get with the other options I wanted. Not really a fear of leaks.. just don't care for them. I don't know why. Just not a sunroof fan. Maybe I didn't like getting forced to get one with a package
Thanks for all the responses. I agree with this post the most, I just see it as $1k I could have spent on a bed cover, bed liner, etc.
Crack the moon roof and open rear window and normal city speeds you have air going through the cab without any noise annoyances like the thump of one window open.
Anyone noticed ice any noise coming from the screen? Possibly loose or something?

Sleepy, can you clarify what noise you are referring to? With the moonroof tilted up or just slightly retracted?
I find it nice that when you hit the "one touch" moonroof open, it retracts back to the 'comfort' position which makes very little wind noise. If you hit the button again, it retracts back a few more inches if you want a bigger opening. This is a feature German cars have had for years.
The noise sounds like the frame of the sun shade riddles when partially open or when shade is fully extended. It's not by any means loud but still seems to be coming from there.

I am currently on the hunt to figure it out.
Both our Thunderbird and Lincoln LS had very noisy sunshades. The plastic frame for the sunshade gets out of whack and drove us nuts. My friend in the business fixed the Thunderbird by pulling the headliner our completely and supergluing all the parts which had come loose. So far the parts in the MKC are perfect.
