My Gen-Turi arrived yesterday. I plan to install it this weekend. Any advice on the install? I have smooth sided exterior walls. I don't recall if the Gen-Turi comes with a suction cup for the wall or not.
Looking at what is included in the kit, it does not include the suction cup, which is available as an accessory, but it does include a means to attach it to the wall.
Yep, I just reviewed the contents info and came to the same conclusion. Suction cups have been ordered. I'm not inclined to start drilling holes on the outside of my trailer. Other than the door to the generator I don't recall there being anything handy to mount something to without drilling.
I installed and tested my Gen-Turi this weekend. My existing generator exhaust tip stuck out slightly from the side of my trailer and I was able to position the new pipe plus reducer right on it. The new pipe sticks out a little further. Eventually I'll get around to trimming back the generator's exhaust pipe so that the Gen-Turi adapter doesn't stick out so far.
The top of the stack is a bit on the tippy side. If the wind gets to blowing I think the stack will bang against the side of the trailer. A spacer affixed to the stack (to hold it away from the RV) and another set of bungee cords would secure it in place.
The Gen-Turi works as advertised. There was almost no exhaust smell when I stood right next to the generator. Working near the generator while it is running will be a clean air experience. The generator might also be a bit less noisy but I would have to use a decibel meter to be objective.
The stack comes in a nylon bag to keep it together. The bag fit above the cabinets in the RV.
