Has anybody installed a 4" Magnaflow exhaust sytem from turbo back on a 2002 F250 CC 7.3L. Is it difficult to install? I have called a few places for installantion cost and it's around $250 to install. One place told me that wouldn't even instal the tubo down pipe because it's to hard to get to.So if anybody has any tips or advice I would welcome it.
Its all bolt on and none of it is hard to get to. Dont know about Magnaflow but my 5" MKO (4" Down Pipe) when on without a problem in just a couple of hours.
The Hardest Part Is Fishing The Down Tube Up From Under The Truck. Me And My Buddy Installed My Mbrp 4in In About 1 1/2 To 2 Hours If That. It All Depends If You Want The Old Exhaust.
I agree with amiller93, very easy to install. The longest part took taking off the old one and trying to get the 4" down pipe installed. Got it wedge a couple of times. Got a bigger hammer!! LoL!! But it only took 2 hrs from start to finish with help from a buddy!
I'm putting on my 4" SS MBRP tomorrow afternoon , so I'll let you know how it goes. In the case of the MBRP, there is one pipe that must be cut depending on which truck you have. The exceptions are the shortbed standard cab (no pipe at all) and the CC long bed (the entire pipe). I have the CC short bed, so I have to take like 16" off the "extention pipe".
the 4" is like they say, easy to install. It took about 2hrs start to finish by myself. It did make a difference in the truck performance too. I wasn't fond of the sound out the tail pipe but well worth the trouble.
Its easy if you have a buddy with you, my down pipe fit with out any problems and the only real pain in the Azz part was having to work with the crapy clamps that come with the MBRP kit.
Just got done with the install... 2 hours from pulling into the lift bay to pulling out. I did have to cut the extension pipe, but the instructions said I'd have to, so no surprises. The Saws-all made it a breeze.
I love that sweet sound! I guess the rest of this tank of fuel will go pretty quick.
Next few tanks more likely. I had mine on for a while now and still cant resist the urge to hammer down occasionally. especially if the is a wall nearby.
With my dumped exhaust with the flex pipe just pointing down a bit, i still cant keep my foot outta of it. My mileage is never going to return, since i keep changing thing soo much.
CRF, I think the best thing is to plan on getting a new clamp where it mounts to the turbo( if not supplyed) The old ones get rusted and heated on that the band will twist or break. I have an ats 4' and like the rest of the guys it took about 2 hours by myself. Good luck you will like it!
Sounds like the AutoHobby shop treated you well....
I remember asking a guy at the Luke AFB AutoHobby shop if they had a saws-all and he didnt even know what I was talking about so they gave me a rotary cutter....that cutter was a pain in the AZZ...haha
Congrats!

Well I hate to swim against the tide here but I installed a 4 inch MBRP today. Had I know when I started what I know now I would gladly have paid $250 to have it done. Mine just didn't fit good. My wheel base is 142 inches so I had to cut the extension pipe at 4 inches acording to the directions but if I did that the flange on it would have only left me 1 inch for the muffler to clamp on. Thats no good so I had to improvise. Also my hangers on the new pipes didn't match where the truck hangers were. Had to move one. But my experience seems to be the exception. I bought the exhaust on ebay so maybe I had something discarded by the company. Who knows? Good luck
