How hot do HIDs get

I have a 2008 f250 and I'm looking to upgrade to either LED or HID bulbs. I saw that HID get hot and some people have said that you have to be careful it doesn't melt your housing. Is this true?

Yep if you have cheap headlights like spyder they will warp the lense. I know from experience. In a good quality housing with the propper projectors you should have no issue.

I feel like I'm repeating myself, but there are a few new threads about HIDs going on. Check out this thread for info and feedback from guys who've done it.
