Windshield washer vent

Suddenly my windshield washer has an enimic flow that just reaches the base of the windshield. All is good when I remove the fill cap. Any ideas on how they vent the windshield washer container on a 2014 Super Duty?

Does it resolve itself? Mine has been like this for about a week. I hate to have to take it to the dealer for this but I guess it might be necessary.

Ok, thanks. As soon as I put the cap back on the problem returns.

There should be a small vent hole in the cap. Make sure it's clear.

Not to Hijack the thread, but how come they didn't put an idiot light on the dash that says low wash?

Its always a nice surprise when I run out-

I personally wouldn't want another sensors in the system of these new trucks. They have enough issues new and after a few years who knows how much will go on, I check my fluids one a week even if I only drove my truck once or twice.was taught to keep my vehicle maintained don't need some computer telling me what to do

Nope, no vent in the cap. That would be too easy. Lol

I absolutely agree. Not only is it a safety issue but it is rediculose that a vehicle in this price point doesn't have this feature.

I would drill a small hole in the cap then.

Great minds...I did that with minimal effect. The flow is only normal if I take the cap off. The vent must allow quite a volume of air.

Update: the washer hose came out of a guide someplace under the hood, (I don't know exactly where because I did look for that), and the hose was getting pinched. Dealer replaced on guide and all is well.

Related tip - stick a pin in the nozzle hole (where the spray comes out) and wiggle it around a bit. Stuff builds up in them, and this opens it back up. Was a huge improvement on mine when I first tried it.
