Well this is my parts truck... no title, expired reg. who know how many years... apparently 87000 miles. is this even possible???
I got the engine to start but it runs like crap, won't stay running unless i pump the pedal. new gas /octane booster/deet and we will see how it does.
Pull codes on the donor and see what comes up. When I use engines for swaps (if you'd like to use that engine) I always get them running good in the donor first, assuming it's complete, so there are less kinks to iron out after swap.
Another option just to toss it out there, I think.....
IIRC 2WD F-Superduties use a front mono-beam on leaf springs. This beam should be cheap, easy to install and turn MUCH sharper then a TTB. It would also allow the truck to get low. So maybe seeing as you're in SoCal, and it's a decent looking crew-cab. Toss in the 2WD beam, fix the motor, and lower the back(remove the block, maybe old/other or modified springs), toss on some stock tires. And boom you have a lowered OBS crew-cab that might just fetch a pretty penny in So-Cal.
This also has the benefit of leaving you with some spare parts. Most notably the front hubs from the D50 that are great spares for the D60, the rear blocks and U-bolts, the wheels and tires, and while fixing the motor put 2wd tranny/transfer in leaving you the 4WD stuff.
