Hello everyone I'm the (proud) new owner of a 1981 Coachmen 22' RV that's on an E350 (guessing?) frame with dual rear wheels.
When switching the 16.5's to 16's, broke a stud off the rear passenger hub because it was left threaded (!? I thought the rear driver was supposed to be left threaded, and when it wasn't I didn't even think about it for this side, my guess is somebody swapped the hubs?), and yes, I had no idea the big L stamped into the stud meant left hand....this is my first foray into large trucks/vans/rvs.
So now to replace the studs (with right hand threaded studs) the hub needs to come off. I got the cover off, and the axle out, and am presented with the pictures below. From googling around, I can't tell exactly what I'm looking at or what I need.
Thank you!

Reason: fixed
That's a wedge pushed in the groove to lock the nylock nut. Just pull the wedge out and remove the nut, I think there was a special socket for the nut. And yes the left sides were left hand thread.

Yeah except in this case the left handed threads were on the right side of the RV!
For those looking at this in the future, here is what I figured out. This is probably a Dana 70 rear axle and here is what I bought:
I now rent the socket to remove them, I will not say how I used to do them because it's not the way it should be done, no reason to buy the tool because you'll not need it often, hand pack new bearings, be certain they are packed tight.
