Hey guys! So my OCD kicked in tonight as I was sitting in my truck, which spawned this question:
My truck is a '77 F150 Ranger XLT. It's got the woodgrain dash bezels and fancy door panels, seats, and headliner. However, the glove box door is just painted plain black with a Ranger badge on it.
Why do I question this? Because back in the day my '78 F250 Ranger non-XLT had a woodgrain glovebox door cover on it with the same Ranger badge.
What glove box door cover should my truck have on it? Woodgrain or plain? Why doesn't it say XLT like the cowl?
My man you just might be in luck! My 78 custom has the woodgrain glove box cover and I just pulled it off because it is the last peice in the whole cab. It's the peice that covers most of the GB door and has a hole for the button?
My truck being green has a green dash with woodgrain bezels...and a plain black door that I pictured. I bought the truck this way about a month ago and have no idea what my PO did or didn't do (though knowing how this truck was treated it wouldn't surprise me if he changed a glovebox door instead of the about to explode lower radiator hose).
I kinda figured it should have the Ranger XLT badge on it because that's what the truck is. I don't see any indication of the original having been removed, aiding to my question.
Just found it odd that my old 78 Ranger had woodgrain there and my new 77 Ranger XLT does not. Was that something that changed between those two years?
Rougeriver - that's exactly what I thought it should look like! Guess my door has been swapped out at some point!

For 1978, all models, Custom up to Lariat, got a woodgrain panel on the glovebox door.
