I have a 1979 F250. I just bought a bed, and from the looks of it, it's a pre-1976 bed judging by the fuel hole. It's the round one. I ordered the fill tube, vent, and cap. But need the part that goes on the hose that attaches it to the bed and the cap also screws to. Does anyone know where to get one? I've checked LMC and Dennis Carpenter. Thanks
you cant buy the steel pipe that connects to the bed ive searched dozens of sites. i had a tire blow and bent mine up til a hole formed. i ended up going to a junkyard and getting a used one. pay attention though the 78-79 fuel necks are diff than the earlier ones.

That's what I figured since they went from the round cap to a door. I'll just have to look for a donor I guess. I just don't understand why no one sells them.
Also, with or without evaporative emissions system makes a difference.
The vent tube next to the filler is 180° apart.
If you have a charcoal canister in your engine compartment, you have evaporative emissions.

I have the canister but the tank is not original, it's the one without emissions.
