My parking brake seems to not want to return to the fully up position. If I reach down with my hand and pull it up, it will come up a little, then fall right back down. The parking brake is working correctly, it's just that the peddle will not come up all the way (and the light will not go off).
Is this a sign that my parking brake cable needs adjustment? And if it does, does anyone have the correct procedure to do this?
The truck I'm asking about is an '89 F250 w 5.0L and NP435.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Roger , Start with the rear brake shoes . Thats where the majority of parking brake problems occur . The cable adjustment under the truck shouldnt be adjusted unless some physical damage or cable replacement is needed .
