Older info from Ranger429

For any one looking for a brass/copper core Advanced Auto part number 398304 is the correct one. It is also the same core that fits early, 68'ish Mustangs. Laurel Mountain Mustang is where I bought mine from. Part number just in case it is needed in the future:
For A/C18476-1A
For non A/C18476-2
www.laurelmountainmustang.com/products/1973-79-bronco-heater-core-without-a-slash-c-brass
Also NAPA but makes sure and ask are they aluminum or copper? Copper is what you want. Heater core, high output heater C6OZ-18476-B
AntiqueAuto Supply, Arlington, TX (817) 275=2381
WesleyObsolete Parts, Liberty, KY (606) 787-5293

Dennis Carpenter, Concord, NC also has 1 but they have it listed under C60Z-18476-B, the third digit is "zero" instead of the correct letter "O". (704) 786-8139
Additional C6OZ-18476-B heater core applications:
1966/70 Falcon w/o A/C / 1966/72 Fairlane/Torino w/o A/C / 1971/73 Mustang/Cougar w/o A/C
Heater core w/ factory A/C or hi-low comfort vent system
D3TZ-18476-A

Std Heater core
D3TZ-18476-C

Side by side comparison of a high output and a standard heater core and box. O'rielly Autoparts cores have a lifetime warranty, NAPA does not.

Do not buy it, it won't fit properly!
In 1983, FoMoCo replaced the heater cores used on 1973/79 F100/350's and 1978/79 Bronco's with new heater cores that are different shapes than the originals.

Because the shapes were different, also required were heater core seal kits, that BG fails to mention!

1973/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco:

E3OZ-18476-A (replaced C6OZ-18476-B) .. High Output Heater Core / Obsolete

EODZ-18658-B .. Heater Core Seal Kit / Obsolete
-------------------------------------------------------
E3TZ-18476-C (replaced D3TZ-18476-A) .. Heater Core-Use with factory installed integral A/C & Hi/Lo Comfort Vent System / Obsolete

E3TZ-18658-C .. Heater Core Seal Kit / Obsolete
------------------------------------------------------
E3TZ-18476-E (replaced D3TZ-18476-C) .. Heater Core-Use with standard heater and dealer installed A/C / Obsolete

EODZ-18658-B .. Heater Core Seal Kit / Obsolete

All of these parts are obsolete, the cores are available NOS, but no one has the seal kits...which were required if replacing with an E3 heater core.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Post #3: Both Antique Auto Supply & Westley Obsolete Parts are no longer in business!

I don't know what happened to Antique Auto, but Westley was bought out by a guy who only sells on ebay and at swap meets.

someone said to use the insulating foam for hot water pipes in houses/industrial, to make the seal around the heater core, I will have to try this if I run out of stock seals.
