I have cancer in three places...
NOT THAT KIND!
My '87 cab does. All along back wall at mounts, right above highbeam switch on mount, and pretty much all along the cowl tub. And, It's only where that rock hard seam sealer was put. Cab swap is possible, but trying to avoid that since now I have engine work ahead of me. What can I do about it? The back floor is a teeny bit wider now than it was a year ago but thats because I tried to cut it out with a 4.5" angle grinder and it didn't work...And the cowl does have rust holes in it. When it rains, if its not covered, My floor is a swimming pool.
Best pic I could get of left side cowl. Under what's lifted is crusted rust
Cut out what I could with what I had.
Now, I think, If I cut out good sections from another cab and find a good welder the back floor and highbeam mount can be correctly fixed. I know, the cab still has to come off. Thats fine. The cowl is what I'm worried about.... And this cab is super straight and solid besides those places....Best cab I found locally has the rocker panels bent from sitting on rims....Only other trucks I found are around dallas where there is a TON of them....
