order process

what is the process? I have scoured the forum and cannot come up with a concise process.
I am about to pull the trigger and would like to know what is in store.

You order it and then see if you get screwed by the big blue weenie...or if you get your truck in 4 weeks!

I don't know about everyone else but for me it was to build countless versions of the truck on the ford site, switching back and forth between that and this forum until I knew I had it the way I wanted it. Then I printed it out and took it to my dealer, he typed it up and had me review his print out to make sure he hadn't missed anything and then he gave me a price and a trade in offer on my current truck. We reached a deal and he ordered the truck that day and then the long wait begins

Oh.. my dealer did tell me today that new orders as of today were estimated at 5 to 6 weeks. For whats thats worth anyway, and thats not much mind you.

i have the build sheet in front of me. price is good. haven’t discussed trade. i am ready to go.
just wondering what steps take place after order?
how do you confirm order is placed?
how/where can i follow it? I hear about chat, etis, etc... what does all this mean?

I ordered 5/28 and no ETA (but got a build date of 10/26, lets see if that holds).
They are so behind on production if you order now, I would not expect it until February. If it arrives before that it will be a real nice surprise. But, dealer is just qutoing the same ol song and dance. As of now Ford is playing catch up on orders.
If you want it before the end of the year check local dealers to see what they have or what is on order.
