I have a 90 bronco with the 5.0 e40d I was driving home from picking a few things up when I accelerated it seemed as if the bronco shut itself off. So I started it back up the check engine light came on and it was in limp mode couldn't go more then 15 mph. But when ever I tried to get it over 2000 rpm I heard aloud popping under the hood. Once I got it home and let it sit for a second now it won't start. I turn the key and the fuel pump primes like its ready to start then il kicks back on and it wont start. The only way to get it to start is to disconnect the battery and wait a minute then reconnect. It's starts a little rough and idles rough but it runs shifts and seems fine for the most part. The popping above 2000 rpm went away. When I get home after work today I'm gonna check the codes and the spark plugs any other idea on troubleshooting?
